Hand-Painted Clothing and Wearable Art
I transform your favourite garments like kurtas, shirts, and sarees into one-of-a-kind wearable art. Bring me your clothing and your dream design, and I will hand-paint it so it is uniquely yours.
A closer look at a custom hand-painted linen kurta. The yellow tulip design flows organically from the neckline, making the garment a unique piece of floral art you can wear.
This is a Kerala cotton saree I hand-painted with a field of tulips along the border and a vibrant, abstract design on the pallu. It was a joy to wear this piece for a cultural event.
A glimpse into my process of hand-painting a shirt. I use specialized fabric paints and fine brushes to carefully add each detail, ensuring the design is both beautiful and long-lasting.
Here is a saree in the process of being painted. One end features a motif of women's profiles, while the other is being prepared for a cascade of yellow tulips, all painted by hand.
Walking the ramp in my hand-painted saree. The theme, "Har Nari, Krantikari" (Every Woman is a Revolutionary), is painted on the pallu, celebrating the power of women.
Proudly displaying the pallu of my self-painted saree on stage. The design features colorful profiles of women, representing unity and strength, a core theme in much of my work.
A collage showing me at a "Mohe Rang De" art workshop, proudly wearing one of my hand-painted shirts. It's always wonderful to create and connect with fellow artists.
A video showing my participation in a Women's Day ramp walk organized by the Cultural Ministry, where I showcased my hand-painted saree despite having a broken arm. The artistic spirit is truly resilient.
About Wearable Art: Hand-Painted Clothing
When I paint on fabric, I don't just apply colour. I use specialized fabric acrylics and gutta outliners that bond with the fibres. Every piece goes through a pre-wash to remove sizing agents, followed by a careful heat-setting process that makes the design durable enough for gentle hand washing.
Whether you want to breathe new life into a favourite Kerala cotton saree or add a personal touch to a linen kurta, I treat your clothes as my canvas. My process is intimate and hands-on. I start by discussing the motif—maybe you love tulips, abstract profiles, or something deeply personal like my 'Har Nari, Krantikari' theme—and then map it onto the fabric. I work with high-quality fabric paints that resist fading. Because I do this by hand, the flow of the design follows the drape of your clothing, ensuring it looks natural while you wear it. If you have an older piece of clothing that still fits well but feels plain, sending it to me is a great way to refresh your wardrobe without buying new fast fashion. I take on garment painting projects across Noida and the wider NCR region. Just let me know what garment you have in mind, and we can discuss the design.

I'm Anjali, and for me, art isn't just something to hang on a wall. It is something you live in. I have spent years painting on everything from canvas to vintage boxes, and now I love turning everyday clothing into personal expressions of style.
