Custom Mixed-Media Art on Vintage Book Pages
I transform forgotten pages from old books into one-of-a-kind canvases, blending the original printed stories with my own hand-painted illustrations.
A vibrant peacock painted over a vintage book page. The bird's brilliant pink plumage and detailed feathers create a beautiful contrast with the underlying text, making it a striking piece of upcycled art.
A depiction of a dancing couple, with the woman's dress painted in vivid color and the man's form left as an outline. This technique allows the book page's text to become part of his costume.
A delicate portrait of a woman with flowing hair, painted on a book page. The text shows through her skin, and spirals on her cheeks add a touch of whimsy to this mixed-media artwork.
A collection of my artworks created on old book pages. You can see a variety of subjects, from portraits to animals and birds, each one giving the forgotten page a new narrative.
A series of peacock paintings, some on book pages and others on paper. The peacock is a recurring motif in my work, and I love exploring its form and color in different styles and mediums.

About Art on Found Pages: Stories on Stories
I use specific gesso priming techniques on these vintage pages to ensure the paint stays vibrant without obscuring the original text. You receive a layered piece where the past narrative of the book and my new illustration coexist, making each painting an entirely unique conversation between two different stories.
Giving Old Stories New Life
My process begins with finding books that have been overlooked or discarded. I believe these pages hold memories and history that deserve a second act. By selecting specific excerpts and layering them with acrylics, inks, or thread, I create a bridge between the classic written word and modern visual art.
The Artistic Process
- Surface Preparation: Every page is cleaned and treated with a thin layer of gesso. This ensures the paper is durable and the paint adheres well, while still allowing the text to show through.
- Illustration: I often incorporate recurring motifs like peacocks, portraits, or abstract figures. Sometimes I draw directly onto the page, letting the font size and paragraph structure influence the composition of the image.
- Finishing: Depending on the piece, I use matte or satin fixatives to seal the artwork, protecting it from moisture and aging without losing the tactile feel of the paper.
Why Commission a Found-Page Piece?
These artworks make for incredibly personal gifts or statement wall decor. If you have a favorite book or a specific theme you love, tell me about it. We can work together to choose a page that resonates with your vision, ensuring the final piece reflects your own story. Whether it is a portrait for your home or a thoughtful gift for a loved one, this is art with a history, designed to last.
