Editorial and Magazine Feature Photography
From conceptualizing themes to coordinating with stylists and HMU artists, I produce magazine-ready imagery that balances brand vision with individual character.
A powerful cover shot of Manasi Parekh for Filmfare magazine. The focus here was on creating a bold and direct image that commands attention on the newsstand.
Part of a Filmfare editorial with Manasi Parekh, this shot uses water reflections and a wet look to create texture and visual interest. The lighting is designed to highlight the unique details of the outfit.
A seated portrait from the Filmfare shoot, focusing on a more intimate and composed mood. The interplay of light and shadow on the water creates a serene yet captivating effect.
This full-length shot for Filmfare showcases the entire ensemble against a clean, high-key background. The lighting setup was designed to create interesting shadow play while keeping the focus on the subject.
Another angle from the water-based set for Filmfare. This image captures a candid, off-gaze moment, adding a layer of depth to the editorial story.
The digital cover for GlobalSpa magazine featuring Jannat Zubair. The composition and pose were chosen to feel both aspirational and accessible for a digital audience.
A full-length shot from the GlobalSpa editorial with Jannat Zubair. The opulent background and dramatic gown required careful lighting to balance the details of both the subject and her environment.
A medium close-up from the GlobalSpa shoot, focusing on Jannat's expression and the intricate details of her outfit's bodice and veil.
For this look in the GlobalSpa feature, we moved to a grand staircase. The soft lighting and elegant pose create a classic, almost fairytale-like portrait.
A tighter shot from the staircase set, highlighting the floral details on the gown and the delicate jewelry. The composition is framed to feel personal and engaging.
About Editorial & Magazine Features
For editorial campaigns, I insist on pre-shoot mood boarding and reference setting to align the aesthetic before we hit the floor. On-set, I use tethered shooting so you can view every frame on a monitor in real-time, allowing us to tweak lighting, styling, and poses instantly rather than fixing them in post-production.
My Approach to Editorial Storytelling
Magazine photography is a collaboration. Whether I am shooting a cover for GlobalSpa or an actor’s feature for Filmfare, the goal is to tell a visual story that feels authentic. I work closely with stylists, makeup artists, and production designers to ensure every element—from the fabric texture to the background architecture—serves the narrative.
The Workflow
- Concept & Mood Boarding: We start with a reference phase to align on the visual direction. This eliminates guesswork on the shoot day.
- Production: For full-day editorial campaigns, I provide tethered shooting, which allows brands and PR teams to review images on a laptop during the session. This ensures we capture the exact angle, expression, and mood needed for your campaign or feature.
- Retouching: My editorial packages include high-end retouching with detailed skin texture retention. I focus on clean background work and color grading that matches the publication's aesthetic or your brand’s commercial requirements.
Logistics & Planning
I am based between Mumbai and Jaipur but travel frequently across India for shoots. For location-based editorials, I help connect you with my network of stylists and HMU artists to keep the production cohesive. If you have a specific publication or brand brief in mind, let’s discuss the concept and bring it to life.
