Behind the Lens: A Peek into My Studio & Process
Ever wonder how we get a crying baby to smile for the camera? It is not magic, it is just patience. Here is a look at how I work to keep your little one calm, comfortable, and happy during our session.
A behind-the-scenes look at an outdoor maternity shoot at Malabar Hill. Even when we only have 10 minutes, we can still create magic.
Through my lens, new stories begin. This video shows me in action, capturing everything from posed newborn shots to tender family moments.
Safety first, always. This video shows how I ensure a baby is always supported, even for a sitting-up shot. Never try this without assistance.
People say my job is easy, but it takes a lot of patience, soothing, and skill to get a crying baby to sleep peacefully for a photo. And I love every minute of it.
Oops! This shoot didn't go as planned. Sometimes the baby is the boss, and that's okay!
We had a whole boho setup ready, but this little guy had other ideas and just wanted to stretch.
So we just paused. We let him rest, loosened his wrap, and waited patiently. There's never any rush in my studio.
This was the plan: a cozy boho bed with soft swaddles. We had it all ready for this little gentleman.
After a little break, he was calm and ready. We captured these beautiful, peaceful shots by simply following his lead.
This is me, Manali, and my job is to make families laugh. As you can see, we take our job very seriously!
About Behind the Lens: My Process & Studio
The biggest secret to my photos? We do not rush. If a baby needs a feed, a diaper change, or just a little cry, we stop. My studio in Cuffe Parade is not an assembly line; it is a space where your baby sets the pace, not the clock.
How We Keep It Real (And Safe)
People often ask me if my job is easy. I promise you, there is a lot of soothing, swaddling, and waiting involved! When you book a session with me, you are not hiring a photographer who will rush you through a checklist. You are hiring someone who understands that a newborn is the boss of the room.
The Setup: Cuffe Parade Studio
Safety is the absolute priority. My studio is temperature-regulated to a constant 27°C to ensure your baby stays cozy throughout the shoot. We use hypoallergenic wraps and sanitized props, and for every session, I have trained safety assistants on standby. If we are doing a slightly more creative pose, there is always a pair of hands right there to support the baby.
What if the baby is unhappy?
It happens! Some days a baby just wants to stretch or needs a nap. We do not panic. We pause. We loosen the wraps, maybe feed the baby, and just wait. I have spent ten years learning that the best photos—the ones that capture real emotion—usually happen after we have taken a break and everyone is calm again.
Whether it is a maternity shoot on a Mumbai trail or a newborn session in my studio, my process is designed to lower your stress, not add to it. You just need to show up; I will handle the rest.
