About Custom Figure Work & Storytelling
Translating your wedding story into portraits requires hours of uninterrupted focus. These figure-work designs typically take 5 to 7 hours to complete with the precision needed for faces and ritual scenes. If you want a custom narrative on your hands, please ensure we have a quiet, comfortable space where I can work undisturbed for the entire duration.
When you choose a figure-based design, we aren't just applying henna; we are documenting your journey. I love integrating specific elements that matter to you—a portrait of you and your partner, the varmala ritual, or the palace venue where you first met. These are the details that turn a standard design into a personal heirloom.
My Approach to Figures
Portrait work is distinct from traditional mandala or floral styles. It requires a steady hand and a deep understanding of negative space. I use my own homemade, 100% natural henna paste for these pieces. Because the paste is chemical-free, the stain develops a rich, deep maroon color over 24 to 48 hours, which is exactly what makes these figures pop on your wedding day.
Planning Your Session
Because of the high level of detail, figure-work bridal mehendi is the most time-intensive service I offer. Here is what you should consider:
- Lead Time: Book at least 3 months in advance to ensure availability.
- Preparation: On the day of, make sure the seating area is well-lit and comfortable.
- Customization: I welcome references—photos of outfits, specific jewelry styles, or ritual scenes you want included. We can incorporate these directly into the flow of the design.
Whether it is the classic Radha-Krishna motif or a bespoke scene of your own wedding day, my goal is to give you a piece of art that looks as good as it feels. This is my therapy, and I am honored to share it with you.
