About Behind the Lens: My Process & Philosophy
Most people assume the hardest part of my job is finding the right outfit, but it is actually the conversation we have before the shopping begins. I start by mapping your personality and comfort zones, not just your size, which is why I often ask clients to show me what they do not want to wear as much as what they do. This ensures we are building a wardrobe that is an honest extension of you, not just a costume for the day.
The Dual Lens Approach
When you hire a separate stylist and photographer, you often deal with disjointed visions. By doing both, I ensure the mood board translates directly to the final frame. My process is built on eliminating that back-and-forth confusion, so the look we plan together is exactly what appears in the image.
The Psychology of Style
With a background in psychology and journalism, I look for the narrative behind the clothes. Are you naturally reserved or expressive? Do you want a minimal Kiara-inspired aesthetic or a heavy heritage Rajwada look? I do not force trends on you. Instead, I analyze your comfort levels and body language to ensure the final look feels like a natural extension of your personality rather than something borrowed.
Transparency in My Methods
I am not a fan of heavy retouching or hiding behind airbrushed filters. My goal is to capture your raw connection and the textures of your outfit, which is why I spend time on set adjusting drapes and lighting rather than relying on post-production fixes.
How We Work Together
Whether you are an NRI looking for virtual styling support or a bride based in Delhi NCR planning a shoot, my approach remains the same:
- Discovery: We hold a deep-dive consultation to align your goals with the final aesthetic.
- Planning: I create a mood board covering colors, props, and lighting so we have a roadmap for the day.
- Execution: On set, I manage the styling assistant, steamers, and pinning, while capturing the shots. This keeps the environment relaxed, allowing us to capture candid moments without the stress of a rigid, clinical photoshoot.
