Getting those pleats sharp and even is key. I guide you through the ironing process for different fabrics, like this beautiful green silk saree, ensuring a professional look.
About My Signature Pre-Pleating Technique
You do not need to spend an hour struggling with safety pins or uneven pleats on the day of your function. In my studio, I teach you how to properly iron and lock your pleats using steam or dry iron settings. This is not just about folding; it is about prepping your saree so you can wear it in minutes, whether you are dealing with heavy Kanjivarams or lightweight daily-wear silks.
Why Pre-Pleating Changes Everything
We have all been there. You are running late for a wedding or a puja, and you are still struggling to get the pleats even. Pre-pleating removes the panic. By using heat to set the fabric, the saree maintains its shape from the moment you drape it until you take it off at the end of the night.
What You Will Master
- Steam vs. Dry Ironing: I show you which fabric needs what. Stiff silks like Kanjivarams require precise temperature control to get a sharp edge without burning the zari.
- The Pinning Hack: It is not about using more pins, it is about using them in the right places. I teach you the minimal-pin technique so your saree stays secure, sharp, and comfortable for long durations.
- Box Folding for Storage: Once your pleats are set, I teach you the box-folding method. You can store the saree in a compact box, and it stays wrinkle-free and ready to wear whenever you need it.
Who This Course Is For
Whether you are a bride prepping your trousseau or a working professional who loves wearing sarees but hates the morning hassle, this workshop is designed to give you independence. My classes are hands-on and held at my Goregaon studio. You will practice on your own sarees until you get the hang of it, ensuring you walk out with a skill that makes your life easier every time you dress up.
