About Mastering Eye Makeup
If you’ve struggled with hooded eyes, you know the frustration of your eyeliner disappearing the moment you open your eyes. My technique uses a simple stamping motion—no dragging or pulling—to map the wing from your lower lash line while your eyes are open. This ensures the line stays visible and crisp, even when you aren't looking directly in a mirror.
Eye makeup is often where people feel the most overwhelmed, but it really comes down to understanding your specific features. Here is how I teach it in my private masterclasses and workshops:
1. Mapping Hooded Eyes
Most standard eyeliner tutorials don't account for eye folds. I focus on creating a wing that isn't hidden. By keeping your eyes open and looking straight ahead, we can map the wing placement accurately so it doesn't get swallowed by your eyelid fold.
2. Brow Definition
Your brows frame your face, but you don't need a heavy hand. I recommend starting with a simple powder or a dual-ended brow kit. The goal is to fill in sparse areas with small, hair-like strokes rather than drawing a harsh outline. I'll show you which tools (and which drugstore dupes) make this a two-minute job.
3. Mascara & Shimmer Placement
I believe in using products that actually make a difference. We'll experiment with volumizing versus lengthening mascaras to see what works for your lash type. For eyeshadow, I teach you how to place shimmer in the center of the lid to make eyes appear larger and more awake, without needing to own a professional 50-shade palette.
4. Customizing Your Look
Whether you need a quick office-ready look that takes five minutes or a soft glam style for a wedding guest appearance, the technique remains the same: practice and product placement. During my 2-day masterclasses at my Sector 19 Noida studio, we do a full vanity audit, which means we test these looks using your own products so you can recreate them confidently at home.
