Getting ready for your big day should feel exciting, not stressful. Here is a peek into how I work—from skin prep to the final details—to ensure you feel completely comfortable and radiant.

The transformation is always my favorite part. Here’s a look at the process for Akanksha's engagement, from skin prep to the final reveal in her gorgeous mint green lehenga. Seeing her happy reaction is what I love most.

A little behind-the-scenes look at creating this lovely look for Raksha. From applying the final touches on her lipstick to placing the earrings, every detail matters in bringing the whole look together.

Here's a glimpse of the getting-ready process with Chaitra. From the makeup chair to the final walk-through, it's all about making sure every detail is perfect for her traditional look.

About Behind the Magic: The Process

It starts with understanding your skin. Before any brush touches your face, I focus on intensive hydration using sheets and under-eye patches to create that signature glass skin base. We also spend time coordinating with your hairstylist and draper, so when you step out, every element—from your heavy temple jewelry to your silk saree pleats—is perfectly in place and ready for 4K video lights.

My Step-by-Step Approach

1. The Foundation (Glass Skin Prep) My process relies heavily on good preparation. I don't believe in just covering up; I believe in nourishing the skin first. Whether it is a sangeet or a traditional muhurtham, I use hydration sheets and under-eye patches to ensure your skin is plump and ready. This creates a smooth canvas for HD makeup that does not cake or crease, even after hours of celebration.

2. Collaboration for a Seamless Look I know that a bridal look is more than just foundation and lipstick. It is a puzzle of many parts. I work closely with your hair artist and saree draper to ensure consistency. If we are setting heavy temple jewelry or a Jadanagam (long braid accessory), I coordinate with the team to ensure the weight is distributed properly so you stay comfortable. For those using hair extensions, I make sure they are secured and blended before we move on to the final styling.

3. The Finish (Longevity & Comfort) My goal is for your makeup to look just as fresh in the final walk-through as it did in the makeup chair. I use premium international products like MAC, Huda Beauty, and Charlotte Tilbury to prevent flashback in photos. I also include a 30-minute stay-back for my premium packages, which gives me time to do final touch-ups right before you head out for your photoshoot or stage entry. This keeps your look pristine, giving you one less thing to worry about during your event.
