About The Art of Saree Draping & More
Draping is not just about wrapping fabric; it is about structure and comfort. In my class, we go beyond standard styles to teach technical box folding and pre-pleating, ensuring your bride looks elegant and stays comfortable for hours. We practice these techniques on each other until your hands know the movement by heart.
Becoming a bridal artist is a complete service. When you are on-site at a wedding, you are often the person responsible for the final look, which includes the saree.
Why Saree Draping Matters
A perfect makeup look can be ruined by a poorly draped saree. I teach 10 to 20 different styles, covering everything from traditional Coorgi and Maharashtrian drapes to modern, sleek styles. We focus on the technical side:
- Box Folding: Getting those crisp, clean pleats that look sharp in photos.
- Pre-pleating: Saving time during hectic wedding morning schedules.
- Durability: Securing the pallu so the bride can move freely without worrying about pins or slips.
Beyond the Saree: Floral & Nail Art
A true artist handles the details. My workshops include floral art (Venis and Gajras), which is essential for South Indian bridal buns, and basic nail art. These might seem like small additions, but they elevate your service from just makeup to a full bridal grooming package. Clients notice when you can handle the flowers and the saree pleats—it builds immense trust and makes you the go-to person on the wedding day.
