About Signature South Indian Bridal Looks
The secret to a perfect South Indian bridal look is in the base preparation. Whether you are wearing heavy antique gold or temple jewelry, the makeup needs to hold its own without looking heavy. I use a waterproof base technique that handles heat and humidity, which is essential for long rituals like the Muhurtham.
Mastering Traditional Looks
A traditional bridal look is not just about heavy coverage. It is about understanding the balance between your outfit, jewelry, and features. In my studio in Kempegowda Nagar, I focus on skin analysis first. We start with a base that allows your skin to breathe while ensuring it stays intact for hours under studio lights and stage heat.
What Goes into Your Bridal Look
- Skin Preparation: I focus on color correction and matching, ensuring your foundation looks natural, not layered.
- Jewelry Coordination: Since South Indian weddings often feature heavy temple jewelry or antique gold, I ensure the eye makeup, particularly the cut-crease or classic glitter work, complements the jewelry rather than clashing with it.
- Hairstyling & Draping: No traditional look is complete without the right hairstyle. I cover classic floral braids, messy buns, and updos, paired with precise saree draping methods like the Coorgi, Iyengar, or classic pleats, using techniques like box folding for a crisp look.
Training & Certification
If you are interested in creating these looks yourself, I teach these specific techniques in my 35-day professional course. We go beyond the basics, covering airbrush makeup, HD techniques, and even how to handle social media marketing to build your own business. My goal is to make sure you are not just a makeup artist, but a successful professional.
