From intricate traditional braids to modern, sleek updos, master the art of structured hairstyling that stays perfect for any wedding event.

A look at the traditional South Indian bridal braids created by my students. We cover various braiding techniques and how to adorn them with flowers and accessories.

This elegant, curly updo with a fresh flower is a versatile style for receptions and engagements. You'll learn how to create soft, romantic hairstyles like this.

The placement of hair accessories is key. Here, the flower adds a touch of softness to the overall look.

This full look shows how the hairstyle complements the half-saree and modern jewelry.

About this collection

Hairstyling is often the trickiest part of the look, especially when dealing with heavy bridal accessories. In my studio, we focus on the foundation—the backcombing, the pinning, and the correct product usage—to ensure the style remains secure for 12+ hours. Whether you are creating a traditional braid for a Muhurtham or a sleek bun for a reception, learning the mechanics of structural integrity is what separates an amateur from a professional artist.

Mastering Hair Structure

Many students come to me thinking hairstyling is just about the final look. It is actually about the prep work. In my 35-day professional makeup and hair diploma, we cover 20 to 30 different styles, ranging from basic braids to complex international updos. You will learn to work with various hair textures, including fine and voluminous hair, and understand how to use padding and hair sprays effectively to build long-lasting volume.

Traditional Meets Modern

We don't just teach one aesthetic. You need to be versatile. We cover traditional South Indian styles, including complex floral integration for Muhurtham, and modern, soft-glam looks suitable for reception gowns and lehengas.

Key techniques covered in our practical sessions:

  • Volume & Texture: How to achieve the 'messy bun' look without it falling apart.
  • Accessory Placement: Securing heavy 'matha pattis' and flower strings so the bride stays comfortable.
  • Braiding Mastery: From simple plaits to intricate fish-tail and five-strand braids.
  • Tool Handling: Correct usage of curling irons, straighteners, and crimpers to create different textures.

Professional Practice

This training is hands-on. You will practice these looks on real models and fellow students during our small-batch classes. We also include a professional kit that contains the essential tools you need to replicate these looks for your own clients once you graduate. My goal is to make sure you are confident enough to handle a bride’s hair on your very first independent booking.

I am Sushma. For me, hair is the frame for the face, and it needs to be as flawless as the makeup. I teach my students to look at the whole picture—the saree, the jewelry, and the event—before picking up the comb.
