From the granite hills of Jawai to the dense forests of Bandipur, I track the most elusive of the big cats. These images capture the patience required to witness a leopard in its natural rhythm.

About Leopards: Masters of Stealth

Most people struggle to spot leopards because they are masters of blending into the rock and foliage. When I print these images on 250gsm archival paper, I ensure the contrast and texture of their rosettes remain sharp, so you see the animal clearly against the background. If you are looking to purchase a print or license an image for an office, I personally handle the processing to ensure the files are free of sensor dust and professionally graded for print.

Leopards are perhaps the most challenging subjects to photograph because they are solitary, nocturnal, and incredibly skilled at camouflage. My work here covers two distinct terrains: the unique granite landscape of Jawai in Rajasthan and the lush forest reserves of Bandipur.

In Jawai, the challenge is understanding how the leopards navigate the rocky outcrops. The light behaves differently there, often creating harsh shadows that require a steady hand and a quick shutter speed. In contrast, photographing them in the dense canopy of Bandipur is about patience. You might wait four hours for a glimpse, only for the cat to disappear in a second.

I capture these moments using a Canon 1DX Mark II and a 600mm F4 lens, which allows me to maintain a respectful distance without compromising the detail. The resulting prints are museum-quality Giclée, designed to last 50 years without fading. Whether you are choosing a canvas for your home or a high-resolution license for a corporate publication, these images are about bringing the intensity of the wild into your space.

If you have a specific space in mind, let me know the dimensions. I can advise on whether a wide-angle habitat shot or an intimate portrait will work better for your wall.
