Batting isn't just about the perfect shot; it's about the adjustment. We focus on reading the ball, handling pace, and playing spin with confidence on Mumbai's iconic red-soil pitches.

Our batting sessions cover a wide range of skills. Here you can see players working on the hanging ball for timing, practicing square cuts and pulls in the nets, and facing fast-paced sidearm deliveries.

The drop ball drill is fundamental for developing a batsman's hand-eye coordination and ensuring they watch the ball closely onto the bat. It's a simple but highly effective exercise we do regularly.

A player practices stepping out to the pitch of the ball to play a powerful drive. This drill helps build confidence and footwork against spinners, allowing batsmen to dominate the game.

A young batsman demonstrates a classic front foot drive during a net session. We focus on getting the basics right, ensuring a solid foundation before moving to more complex shots.

Here, a 9-year-old player bravely faces a sidearm thrower. We build courage and technique from a young age, teaching them to handle pace with the right mindset. As I always say, "Lage rehna hai."

Consistent action leads to consistent results. This video shows a young cricketer practicing his stance and shots, building the muscle memory required for high-level performance.

A batsman faces a fast bowler in the outdoor nets. This kind of practice is crucial for getting used to the pace and bounce of a real match.

Here we are conducting a swing ball session. Learning to play the moving ball is a key part of a batsman's education and a skill that separates good players from great ones.

Good technique is the key to creating a masterpiece. This sequence shows the importance of a low backlift, watching the ball from the bowler's hand, and playing late under the eyes.

About Batting Masterclass

Batting isn’t just about the perfect cover drive; it’s about surviving when the ball swings or spins unpredictably. At Macho, we don’t just teach textbook shots; I teach you how to read the bowler. Whether it’s facing 130kph+ deliveries in our sidearm sessions or learning to trust your feet on the red-soil pitches at Cross Maidan, we focus on the critical adjustment that helps you survive and score in any condition.

Cricket is a game of adjustment. Anyone can play a straight ball, but the real test is how you handle a ball that turns, swings, or kicks off a rough patch. That is why our batting masterclass is built around real-world scenarios rather than static drills.

Our Training Approach

  • The Hanging Ball & Drop Ball: These are our foundational tools. We use these to build hand-eye coordination and ensure you watch the ball all the way onto the bat. It is the best way to develop the timing and late-playing ability that separates a good batter from a consistent one.
  • Sidearm & Pace: To prepare you for 130kph+ deliveries, I use sidearm throwers. It is about getting used to the speed and maintaining your shape under pressure, not just swinging blindly.
  • Spin Adaptation: We don't just clear the pitch; we use it. We create rough patches and drill you on sweeping, stepping out, and defending. You need to learn how to play late and under your eyes to truly master spin.

The 'Macho' Mindset

I always tell my students, 'Sitaron ke aage jahan aur bhi hai' (there is always more to aim for). You will face tough days. You will get out. But the training we do here—whether at our indoor nets in Kurla or on the open grounds at Cross Maidan—is designed to help you stay calm. My goal is to make sure you are ready, not just to hit the ball, but to handle the pressure of the match.

If you are between 14 and 19 and ready to put in the hard work, you have a place here. This is not a race; it is a long, deliberate journey to become a better cricketer every single day.
