About Family & Group Portraits
When you have a family or group together, the energy is different. I can sketch multiple people on one sheet, turning a quick moment into a lasting souvenir. Because group portraits require more detail, they take a little longer than individual sketches, so tell me your guest count and I can plan the timing to keep the lines moving smoothly at your party.
The best part of live caricature is hearing the crowd reaction. I often hear people say, 'Are tyacha tar kadh na,' which roughly translates to 'Hey, draw his too, give me the same one.' That energy is exactly what I aim for when I sit down to draw a family or a group of friends.
Why Book a Group Portrait Session?
- Shared Memory: Unlike a photo that sits on a phone, a drawing is a tangible takeaway guests keep for years. It reminds them of the specific gathering, whether it is a birthday, wedding, or a casual get-together.
- The Process: I use A3 archival paper for group sketches to ensure everyone fits comfortably. I focus on the connection between the subjects while keeping the style fun and exaggerated.
- Personalization: If you want, I can add names or short dates in Marathi, Hindi, or English right onto the paper, making it a truly custom favor.
Planning Your Event
I am based in Pune but travel across India for events. For group portraits, I recommend setting up in a high-traffic area where people gather, like near the entrance or by the snack counters. This encourages guests to jump in and get sketched together.
I bring my own easel and materials, including protective transparent sleeves for each finished sketch. This keeps the art safe from spills or smudges while your guests enjoy the rest of the party.
