I’ve designed these with a 'skort' feature—meaning she gets the look of a skirt with the security of shorts underneath. Whether she's cartwheeling or climbing, the outfit stays in place while she stays comfy. No more tugging at hems or uncomfortable elastic digging into her waist, just pure freedom to move.
I started Little Bear right in my living room, simply because I was tired of buying clothes that looked cute but felt terrible. My priority has always been the fabric—100% pure cotton that doesn't itch or irritate. When I design these co-ord sets for girls, I think about how kids actually live. We use soft elastic that doesn't leave marks on their waist and finish our seams (often using French seams) so they remain smooth against delicate skin.
Each set—whether it's the waistcoat style or the ruffled top—is built for movement. I love incorporating features like skorts because it means your daughter can run, jump, and twirl without you needing to worry about what's underneath. We avoid fussy zips or stiff, complicated closures. Instead, we use wooden buttons or simple, step-in necklines that make getting dressed in the morning a non-event.
