Dance Together: Our Community and Special Events
At The Lewis Foundation of Classical Ballet, dance extends beyond the studio. We host intensives, festive parties, and family days that bring our dance family closer together.

About Community & Special Events
You will notice a recurring theme in events like our annual Nutcracker party or themed summer intensives: we prioritize the shared experience over flawless execution. When we host Mother’s Day celebrations or open class days, the goal is for parents and students to see the growth happening off the stage as much as on it, building connections that last long after the music stops.
Whether it is the ten-day 'Wicked' summer intensive or our festive Nutcracker Extravaganza, these gatherings are where our students truly come alive. We structure these events to be more than just extra practice; they are opportunities for students to apply their technique in a social, low-pressure environment. During our summer programs, we often integrate elements like musical theatre, singing, and storytelling, allowing dancers to explore different sides of their creativity.
We believe that a strong dance community is built on interaction. This is why you will find senior students guiding juniors during our festive workshops, reinforcing the mixed-level learning philosophy we use in regular classes. Our 'Bring a Friend' weeks and open family days provide a window into the studio culture, removing the mystery for parents and making dance feel accessible to everyone. If you join us for a workshop, expect to work hard, sweat, and perhaps step out of your comfort zone, but also expect to find a supportive group of peers who are in it with you. We do not just perform; we learn how to hold space for one another, whether that is during a high-intensity rehearsal or a casual after-class meal.
