When we plan your smash cake, the texture of the frosting is my top priority. I always suggest a soft, smooth buttercream finish rather than fondant because it is much easier for your little one to dig into and explore during the photoshoot. This ensures they have a blast while getting those perfect, messy photos you will cherish.
A first birthday is a huge deal, and the cake needs to be just right. My smash cakes are designed specifically for that messy, joyful photo moment. I use soft Swiss Meringue or American buttercream because it is easy to handle and tastes great. If you have a specific photoshoot theme, share it with me early. Whether it is a rustic setup with dried flowers or a bright, colorful jungle theme, I can match the cake colours and design elements to your decor.
Beyond the classic smash cake, I also love doing half-birthday cakes. Celebrating the six-month mark is a trend I absolutely adore. It is a sweet way to document your baby's growth, and I have done everything from sunny themes to rainbow designs for these sessions.
