The Art of Handwork: Custom Embroidered Designer Outfits
Explore the intricate details behind my custom designs, where cutdana, sequins, and mirror work create truly unique pieces made just for you.
A close-up of the colorful floral hand embroidery I created for a light gold lehenga. Instead of traditional gold or silver, I used a pastel palette of sequins and beads to create a fresh, modern, and whimsical design.
Another look at the intricate, multi-colored floral embroidery. Each flower and leaf is carefully crafted with sequins and beads, showing the level of detail that goes into my custom pieces.
This detailed shot showcases the scalloped border and scattered floral motifs of a custom hand-embroidered piece. This kind of delicate work can elevate any outfit, from a lehenga to a dupatta.
Here is a behind-the-scenes glimpse of my artisans at work. This video shows the process of creating an intricate mirror-work pattern on bright yellow fabric, with each mirror being carefully stitched by hand.
This is the final look of the light gold lehenga featuring the colorful floral embroidery. Paired with an off-shoulder blouse and detachable velvet sleeves, it’s a perfect example of how detailed handwork creates a truly unique outfit.

About The Art of Handwork
I do not just add embroidery to an outfit, I build the pattern thread by thread. Whether it is the specific weight of the cutdana or the precise placement of delicate feathers, every embellishment serves a purpose in how the fabric moves and sits on your body. When you choose a custom design, we decide exactly how much sparkle or subtlety you want, ensuring the final piece feels like it was made specifically for you, not just bought off a rack.
Crafting Your Vision
Every piece that leaves my studio in Vashi is the result of a collaborative process. We start by discussing your vision—what silhouette makes you feel most confident? Do you prefer the subtle shimmer of sequins or the bold, traditional look of mirror work? Once we settle on the design, my team of artisans begins the handwork.
The Materials I Use
I love working with a mix of materials to create texture and depth. My signature style often incorporates:
- Cutdana & Salli: These glass beads and metallic tubes provide a clean, sharp sparkle that catches the light beautifully, perfect for evening wear.
- Mirror Work: I use these for a vibrant, traditional touch, often combined with bright fabrics like yellow for Haldi ceremonies.
- Feathers & Leather: For cocktail gowns or edgy co-ord sets, I add feathers, shells, or leather appliques to break away from standard designs.
- Sequins: Used in dense patterns to create a full-glitter effect, ideal for bridal or showstopper outfits.
A Focus on Quality & Comfort
Custom design is not just about looks; it is about fit. For lehengas, I construct the flare with 12 to 16 panels, using high-quality canvas fusing and double layers of stiff can-can to ensure the volume stays perfect throughout your event. For gowns, I incorporate built-in bra cups and bodice boning to provide structure and support without needing extra layers. My goal is to make sure that whether you are wearing a gown or a lehenga, the fit is precise and the embroidery is comfortable enough for you to wear all night long.
