- Local Block: Injection of 2% Lignocaine with Adrenaline (1-2ml) for complete numbing.
Surgical Procedure
- Excision: Removal of healed skin edges with #15 surgical blade to create raw surfaces.
- Suturing: Layered closure using fine non-absorbable sutures (Prolene or Nylon 5-0/6-0) to minimize scarring.
- Technique: Vertical or zig-zag alignment to preserve natural lobule curvature.
- Duration: 30 to 45 minutes of active procedure time.
Post-Care & Follow-up
- Dressing: Application of antibiotic Mupirocin ointment and flesh-colored sterile strip.
- Suture Removal: Includes one follow-up visit after 7-10 days to remove stitches.
- Note: Excludes new ear piercing; re-piercing allowed only after 3-6 months healing.

Preparation & Safety
- Topical Anesthesia: Application of eutectic numbing cream (Lidocaine/Prilocaine) for 30-45 minutes under occlusion.
- Eye Protection: Use of corneal shields or protective wear for procedures near the lash line.
Ablation Procedure
- Technology: Radiofrequency (RF) Cautery or Fractional CO2 Laser to vaporize deposits layer by layer.
- Precision: Microsurgical removal under loupes to prevent eyelid turning (ectropion) or deep depressions.

Post-Procedure Care
- Immediate Care: Saline cleaning and application of ophthalmic antibiotic ointment.
- Healing: Expect scab formation that naturally sheds in 5-7 days.
- Exclusion: Does not include lipid profile blood tests or systemic cholesterol medication.
