The Surgical Process

• Suturing: I use fine, non-absorbable sutures (Prolene or Nylon 5-0/6-0) to minimize scarring. The goal is a clean, layered closure that restores the natural curve of your earlobe.

Recovery and Aftercare

Immediately after the procedure, I apply an antibiotic ointment and a sterile strip to protect the site. The most important part of your recovery is keeping the area clean and returning for the follow-up visit on day 7 to 10 to have the sutures removed. Please resist the urge to re-pierce the ear immediately. We need the tissue to heal completely, which takes roughly 3 to 6 months.

I focus on providing realistic outcomes. While the repair is durable, continuing to wear heavy earrings immediately after healing can sometimes lead to recurrence, so I always advise on responsible earring choices.
