About From Yarn to Rug: The Process
The tufting gun looks like an intimidating tool, but it is actually quite intuitive once you get the hang of the motion. Don't worry about making mistakes; the beauty of this process is that yarn is very forgiving. If you do not like how a section looks, you can simply pull the yarn out and re-tuft that area until the texture is exactly the way you want it.
Whether you are a complete beginner or looking for a new hobby in Bengaluru, our studio is all about low-pressure, high-fun creation. Our process starts with choosing your design. For our 8-inch mini sessions, we recommend simple geometric shapes or initials to get a feel for the machine. For 14-inch rugs, the canvas is larger, allowing for intricate character designs or logos, which we help you trace onto the fabric with a projector for precision.
Once you are set up, we teach you the safety basics of the cut-pile tufting gun. The rhythm is the most important part. Once you find that flow, the 3-hour session flies by. We provide all the materials, including monk's cloth, an entire wall of acrylic yarn, and frames.
After you finish your tufting, the magic phase happens. We apply the quick-dry latex backing to secure your stitches and then perform the final shearing. This step trims the yarn pile to an even, clean finish, giving your piece that professional, 3D look. You walk home with your finished rug the same day, ready to hang or display.
