About Little Stars: Kids & Baby Portraits
Kids are rarely still and almost never follow directions, and that is exactly how it should be. In my studio sessions, I focus on the candid stuff—the way they giggle, the focus in their eyes, and those small, messy details—rather than forcing them into perfect poses.
Kids move. They cry, they laugh, and they run around. That is the charm. At my Jakkur studio, we move away from stiff, uncomfortable posing. Instead, we create a space where your child can play, explore, and be themselves.
Whether we are shooting a milestone birthday, a cake smash, or just celebrating a random Tuesday, the focus remains on capturing the individual personality. If you want a specific vibe, we can plan for it. I do everything from minimalist, clean setups to wild, boho themes with props. We can shoot in my studio for controlled lighting or take it outdoors to a park or garden during the golden hour if your family prefers a more natural, candid feel.
For toddlers, the session is more playdate than a photoshoot. For older kids, we look for that burgeoning personality—the way they tilt their head when they think or that mischievous smirk they get when they are up to something.
Practical reality check: Kids get tired. I plan our sessions to be manageable, usually 1 to 2 hours for standard studio work, so we capture the energy before the inevitable meltdown happens. If you need wardrobe ideas, we can discuss that beforehand, but I always recommend wearing something you are comfortable in. If you are stressed, they feel it. When you are relaxed, the images show it.
I offer a few tiers for these sessions. Standard studio portraits cover the essentials for a quick, clean look. Premium sessions give us more time for multiple setups, outfit changes, and more intricate prop design. If you are leaning towards an outdoor shoot, keep in mind we need to chase that golden hour light, so we will need to coordinate the timing carefully. Regardless of the package, the end goal is the same: images that look like your child, not a generic stock photo.
