Custom Hand-Painted Festival Backdrops & Pandal Murals
I transform blank walls into stories, creating immersive, hand-painted backdrops for Ganpati and Navratri celebrations across Mumbai.
This video shows how I bring a grand concept to life. For this Ganpati decoration, I recreated the historic coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, painting the entire backdrop on-site to create a powerful and immersive scene for Bappa.
This is a full view of my Aagri Koli themed Navratri installation. My goal was to wrap the entire room in art, from the hand-painted waves on the floor to the depiction of Ekvira Mauli's temple in the background, celebrating my cultural roots.
A powerful depiction of Ganpati against a moonlit sky. I use a combination of brushwork and spray painting to create dramatic, large-scale backdrops like this one for community pandals, making the entire space feel divine.
Even a small corner in a home can be transformed into a sacred space. Here, I painted a serene waterfall backdrop on manjarpat cloth and created a 360-degree jungle theme with painted walls and ceiling to welcome Ganpati.
This is a Dattatreya Ganesh installation for a large mandal. The brief was to create a complete jungle environment. I painted the surrounding walls and ceiling to make devotees feel like they are stepping into a forest to seek blessings.
Watch how a simple dark blue canvas becomes a celestial sky for Ganpati. This video shows the process of creating the cloudy night effect that serves as the backdrop for a beautiful murti, setting a magical and peaceful mood.
Besides large backdrops, I also do detailed painting work on fiber murtis. This is a Saraswati idol I painted for Dussehra, focusing on bringing the features to life with careful color application and delicate brushstrokes.
About Featured
I paint your festival backdrops live on-site, working with you to match the exact theme of your celebration. Whether it’s a celestial sky for Ganpati or a traditional Aagri Koli scene for Navratri, I use professional-grade acrylics on manjarpat cloth or directly on walls to ensure the art looks sharp in your event photos.
When I paint a backdrop, I'm not just covering a wall; I'm setting the stage for the deity. For Ganpati, I often create 360-degree environments, painting surrounding walls and ceilings to make your space feel like a forest, a temple, or a celestial night sky.
My Process
My work begins by understanding the vision behind your festival. I use high-contrast acrylics and professional spray-gun techniques to create depth that truly pops under festival lighting. For community pandals in Mumbai, I collaborate with a team of artists to handle large-scale, immersive murals on plywood or cloth, ensuring we meet tight timelines with quality finish.
Customization & Materials
- Home Setups: I provide rolled, hand-painted artwork on primed Manjarpat cloth (up to 6x4 ft), which is perfect for wall-pinning or taping behind your idol. These are light-varnished to handle humidity.
- Thematic Depth: I enjoy blending history and faith, whether it’s recreating the Shivrajyabhishek Sohala or painting serene jungle themes inspired by Lord Dattatreya.
- Material Quality: I focus on semi-realistic, high-contrast finishes designed to look vivid in photography.
I don't just work in my studio. For larger community pandals, I come to your location to execute the work live. This ensures the mural blends perfectly with your specific structure and lighting. If you have a story, a memory, or a cultural connection—like my own Aagri Koli roots—I am here to help you bring that onto the canvas.

For me, painting isn't just work, it's bhakti. I love taking a blank wall and turning it into something that makes people smile during the festival season.
