Our Gold Upcycling & Design Process

We transform your heirloom gold into modern, wearable pieces without melting. Here is the story behind our transparent, no-melt process.

Design is our first language. Every piece tells a story, and we know how to translate it from old memories to fresh designs. Upcycling isn't about changing gold, it's about changing how you see it.

Details create distinction. From the quality of the diamonds to the finishing touches, we believe the smallest things make the biggest difference in every piece we create.

Trust is our real currency. People don't just come to us with their jewelry, they come for honesty, transparency, and the peace of mind that their heirlooms are in safe hands.

Growth needs patience. We believe that good things take time, and the best transformations are crafted with care, attention to detail, and a deep respect for the piece's history.

Consistency beats virality. For us, showing up every day and doing good work has built stronger roots than any trend ever could. This is the foundation of our craft.

We believe in community over customers. Every client who has believed in us has become a part of the Kivlo story, and we are so grateful for the community we've built together.

A look back at what 2025 taught us. This image captures a moment of collaboration and planning as we carry forward the lessons of trust, detail, and patience into the new year.

About this collection

We start every project by weighing your gold and checking its purity, giving you total transparency before a single design is sketched. We do not melt your existing pieces. Instead, we use your original gold as the foundation and add precious stones, Kundan, or additional Hallmarked gold to rebuild the structure. This way, you keep the sentimental value of your heirloom while upgrading its look to match your personal style.

How We Work

Our philosophy centers on preserving history while creating modern, functional jewelry. Whether it is an old mangalsutra, a broken chain, or a set of heavy bangles, we treat every piece with the same attention.

1. The Consultation It starts with a conversation, either in our Opera House studio or via a video call. We discuss your personal style, the pieces you want to transform, and the look you want to achieve. We then sketch out a new vision together.

2. The No-Melt Approach Melting your gold often leads to hidden costs, labor loss, and changes in gold purity. By keeping 70-80% of your original gold, we maintain the metal's integrity. We add new Hallmarked gold (18K or 22K) and gems like rubies, emeralds, or pearls to bridge the gaps and create a balanced design.

3. Transparency and Trust We are obsessed with accountability. We weigh everything in front of you. We always recommend getting a touch report done at a local jeweler before visiting us. It gives us a neutral starting point, ensuring the process is honest and clear from the moment we begin.

4. Artisan Craftsmanship Once the design is finalized, our artisans hand-fabricate the new piece. This is a technical process that involves strategic soldering and resizing, not mass production. We share behind-the-scenes updates so you are part of the journey until the final piece is ready.
