Our Favorite Heirloom Transformations
This is a collection of my favorite projects. From forgotten kurta buttons to wedding sets gathering dust, these are the pieces we have given a second life.
This is what I love to do. We took a client's old gold pieces and reimagined them into this breathtaking statement choker. It’s not about melting gold, it’s about seeing its potential and bringing a new story to life.
This is one of my favorite upcycles. I’ll walk you through how we took a piece that was already upcycled once and transformed it into a true heritage choker for our client to pass down to her daughter. We added blue stones, kundans, and pearls to make it bigger and bolder, just how she likes it.
Can you believe these were once men's kurta buttons? A client brought them to us before a wedding, and we turned them into a stunning and versatile set with a ring, earrings, and a pendant, complete with uncut diamonds and South Sea pearls.
It’s stories like this that make my work so special. A mom walked in with her wedding chandanhaar, wanting to create something for her daughter. We blended its Gujarati style with a South Indian gotapusalu touch, creating a new bridal piece filled with blessings.
So many of us have bangles that just don't fit anymore. Instead of letting them sit in a locker, we made this pair openable and added a touch of kundan and pearls. Now, they're not just beautiful, they're wearable every day.
Nothing makes me happier than hearing from a client like Preeti. She brought in one old Kundan set and we created two completely different pieces, a choker for her daughter and a long mala for her. This is what upcycling is all about, creating something for everyone.
Every transformation starts with an idea. We sit down together, sketch out the possibilities, and only then do my artisans begin their work. This shows how a simple drawing becomes a treasured heirloom you can wear.
About this collection
When you bring your gold to our Opera House studio, we weigh every piece right in front of you. Before we start, we create a transparent touch report so you know exactly how much gold is being preserved. We do not melt your jewelry; instead, we carefully hand-fabricate a new structure around your original gold, allowing us to add fresh Kundan, rubies, or rice pearls while keeping the emotional history of your heirloom completely intact.
Your Heirlooms, Reimagined
I started this journey because I hated seeing beautiful jewelry melted down and losing its story. My process at Kivlo Jewels is simple: we preserve, we adapt, and we enhance. Whether you have a heavy wedding chandanhaar that feels too traditional or a collection of broken chains sitting in your locker, we can transform them into something you will actually wear.
The Process: From Sketch to Reality
It all starts with a conversation. We can meet at my studio in Opera House or hop on a video call. You tell me your style, and I start sketching. We do not move forward until you are happy with the design. My artisans use traditional techniques to take apart the original pieces and reconstruct them, often combining different items—like turning kurta buttons into earrings or merging multiple thin bangles into a statement kada.
Why No-Melt Matters
By not melting your gold, we keep the original hallmarks and purity intact. We add new Hallmarked gold for the structure, along with high-quality semi-precious stones or pearls to fill gaps and add volume. It is a sustainable approach to luxury that respects the past while embracing modern fashion trends. Whether you are looking for an upcycled bridal set or just a daily-wear ring, we treat every piece with the same attention to detail. If you have been hesitant about what to do with old gold, bring it in and let's see what we can create together.
Kivlo Jewels
I am Miloni, and I started Kivlo Jewels with Kavin because I believe your grandmother's necklace deserves to be worn, not locked away. I am the night owl sketching these transformations, and we are all about taking those forgotten heirlooms and making them modern, wearable, and ready for your next big event.
