About Outdoor Family Adventures: Love in the Wild
We usually time these sessions around the golden hour, either early morning or late afternoon, to get that soft, natural glow in the Shimla pines. Because these are outdoor shoots, please note that transport to locations like the Glen or local nature trails is your responsibility, but I bring the props and the lighting assistant to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Why choose an outdoor family session?
Studio lights are great for controlled portraits, but there is a special kind of magic that happens when you let kids run free. My outdoor sessions in Shimla are designed for families who want to break away from the traditional pose and smile routine. Whether it is a walk through a pine forest or a picnic at a nature trail, we look for natural interactions rather than forced grins.
What to expect on the day
- The Vibe: We keep it relaxed. If the kids want to run, we run. If they find a cool rock or a pinecone, we photograph that. You do not have to worry about them sitting still for 60 minutes.
- The Light: I carefully pick our location and time based on where the sun hits best. In the mountains, that shift from shade to sun can change everything, so we aim for that sweet spot during the golden hour.
- The Prep: Since we are out in the wild, bring comfortable shoes and clothes you do not mind getting a little grass on. I bring along minimalist props like vintage blankets or picnic baskets to tie the look together, but the real star is the Himachali landscape itself.
Practical details
These sessions generally last around 2.5 to 3 hours. Because we are mobile, I can travel within 10km of Shimla to find the right spot for your family. Once we are done, I handle the color grading to ensure those greens and skin tones look crisp, natural, and timeless.
