Newborn Photography in Shimla: Capturing Your Baby’s First Days
The first few days with your newborn go by in a blink. I focus on creating a calm, safe space in my Shimla studio to capture these quiet, precious beginnings while you just relax and soak it all in.

About Newborn & First Moments: Tiny Toes, Big Love
The golden window for newborn portraits is between 5 to 15 days, when babies are most settled and sleepy. At my Bhattakuffer studio, I keep the pace slow and gentle to ensure your little one stays comfortable. We do not rush through poses, and I prioritize safety and hygiene, giving you the time you need to feed or soothe your baby whenever necessary.
Creating a Safe Space
Newborn photography requires patience and a specific environment. My studio in Bhattakuffer is designed specifically for infants, kept warm and quiet to mimic the comfort of the womb. Whether we are capturing those sleepy smiles or the tender connection with parents, the priority is always the baby's safety.
Why the 5-15 Day Window Matters
In the first two weeks, babies are naturally more flexible and sleep for longer stretches. This makes it easier to capture those classic, curled-up poses without disturbing them. If your baby is slightly older, do not worry. We can still capture beautiful, lifestyle-focused portraits that emphasize their developing expressions and interactions with you.
Preparing for Your Session
- Feeding: A well-fed baby is a happy baby. Feel free to feed your baby right here at the studio whenever needed.
- Parents and Siblings: I highly encourage family participation. Including parents and older siblings helps ground the photos, turning simple portraits into a story of your new family dynamic.
- Wardrobe: Keep outfits simple. I provide a selection of wraps and headbands that are gentle on newborn skin. If you have a sentimental item like a handmade blanket or a soft toy, bring it along to add a personal touch to the session.
Our Process
When you book a newborn portrait session with me, you are not just booking a photographer. You are booking a dedicated time slot where the studio is yours alone. There are no other sessions back-to-back, so we can move at the pace your baby sets, ensuring a stress-free experience for everyone involved.
