Science and Discovery Programs for Kids

We turn curiosity into understanding. At our Haralur camp, children explore science not through textbooks, but through hands-on experiments that make abstract concepts tangible.

We are always excited about science. Here, I am demonstrating a chemical reaction that creates a "volcano" eruption. The children watch with anticipation before getting a chance to try it themselves.

The children watch with rapt attention during a science demonstration. This experiment, which uses household items to inflate a balloon, is a safe and exciting way to introduce concepts of chemistry and physics.

A simple and beautiful experiment to show how plants absorb water. We placed white flowers in colored water and observed over a few days as the petals changed color, making the concept of capillary action visible and easy to understand.

About this collection

When we demonstrate a baking soda volcano, the real goal isn't just the eruption. It is the pause. We watch, we wonder, and then we let the children take over. By handling the materials themselves—the vinegar, the soda, the colors—they move from just watching an event to understanding the cause and effect behind it.

Learning Through Observation

In a Montessori environment, science is a lens for understanding the world. We do not teach science as a dry subject; we integrate it into the child's daily discovery process. Whether it is observing capillary action by placing white flowers in colored water or seeing the reaction between baking soda and vinegar, the focus is on sensory exploration.

Why We Do It This Way

Children learn best when they are the ones doing the work. When a child pours the colored water into a test tube or measures the powder, they are practicing coordination and concentration, not just observing chemistry. We provide the materials and the safety, then step back to let them experience the moment themselves.

The Haralur Summer Camp Approach

Our 3-week camp in Haralur is designed to encourage this natural curiosity. We keep groups small, allowing for one-on-one guidance. You will not see us lecturing. You will see us setting up the experiment, then sitting back to watch the children explore the results. It is about building confidence—the child learns that they can manipulate their environment, observe changes, and ask questions about the how and why of the natural world.

Ken Montessori

Camp hosted at Haralur, BengaluruStarting ₹7,500 Per Child

We started Ken Montessori 10 years ago as a small home for kids, and today, that family has grown. We believe in letting children lead, whether they are sewing a button or watching a balloon inflate during a science experiment. Our goal is simple: to create a space where curiosity is the only rule.
