Montessori Summer Camp for Kids in Haralur
A 3-week journey where children lead their own learning. From hands-on science experiments to essential life skills like cooking and sewing, our camp helps kids discover their potential in a calm, focused, and home-like space.
This is the heart of experiential learning. Here, a child feels the clay take shape under their hands with gentle guidance from a local potter. This tactile activity builds fine motor skills, patience, and an appreciation for traditional crafts.
This is the beautiful sound of a Montessori classroom: the quiet hum of children deeply focused on their chosen work. There is no competition or rush, just a peaceful space where each child can concentrate and learn at their own individual pace.
The iconic Pink Tower is a favorite for a reason. As this happy child builds, they are intuitively learning about dimensions, sequence, and precision. This sensorial work lays a strong foundation for future mathematical understanding.
It took this child nearly 20 minutes of intense focus to sew this button, a testament to their determination. This practical life activity is a powerful way to develop fine motor control, hand-eye coordination, and the immense satisfaction of mastering a real-world skill.
We believe in sharing our world with all beings. During a visit from a cow and her calf, children learn about empathy and care firsthand. These real-world interactions are a vital part of our curriculum, teaching respect for nature and other living creatures.
Learning is a community affair. Here, children work together in a group to prepare bhelpuri, a popular Indian snack. This no-fire cooking activity involves measuring, mixing, and sharing, making it a lesson in both practical life skills and social grace.
The look of pure wonder says it all. Our hands-on science experiments, like this mini volcano, are designed to spark excitement and curiosity. We make abstract concepts tangible, encouraging children to ask questions and discover the magic of science.
About this collection
Unlike standard camps with back-to-back classes, we keep our batch sizes small—roughly 1:10—to give children the time they need to truly concentrate. Whether it is sewing a button, grinding ragi on a stone, or mixing bhelpuri, our aim is mastery through repetition, not rushing through a list of activities.
Our 3-week summer camp, hosted in our dedicated 'House of Children' in Haralur, is designed for ages 3 to 11. We operate from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, providing a rhythm that allows children to settle into their work deeply rather than being shuffled between disconnected sessions.
Why Our Approach Works
We believe in the power of the 'prepared environment.' Everything in our space, from child-sized furniture to the arrangement of materials, is intentional. When a child chooses to spend forty minutes pouring water or sewing a button, they are not just playing; they are building concentration, fine motor control, and a sense of order.
Practical Life Skills
This is the core of our camp. Practical life skills are the foundation of Montessori education. We introduce activities like flameless cooking, where children measure, chop, and mix ingredients for snacks like fruit salad or bhelpuri. These aren't just chores; they are exercises in coordination, logic, and social grace. We also incorporate traditional tasks like ragi grinding to connect children with tangible processes.
Science and Creative Expression
Beyond daily life skills, we spark curiosity through hands-on science—think baking soda volcanoes or density experiments—that make abstract concepts visible. Our art sessions, including pot painting and paper crafts, focus on the creative process rather than the final product. We provide the materials and the guidance, then step back to let the children explore.
A Community Experience
Our camp is an extension of our community. We often include nature walks and supervised park visits to ensure fresh air and physical movement are part of the day. By keeping groups small, we ensure that every participant receives personalized guidance from our IMTC-certified staff.
Ken Montessori
We started as a small house full of children in 2013 and have spent the last decade refining our 'pure Montessori' approach. We believe that if you give a child the right tools and the space to be curious, they will surprise you with their ability to focus and excel.
