Challenging MCD and Police Inaction for Animal Rights

Illegal relocations and police refusal to file FIRs are a reality in Delhi-NCR. We don't just protest; we use legal pressure to stop institutional cruelty.

We confronted MCD workers who illegally picked up four-month-old puppies for sterilization. After three hours of argument and police intervention, the dogs were released and the employee gave a written apology.

This MCD employee, Arjun, became aggressive and threatening when we questioned the illegal pickup of puppies. We recorded the entire confrontation to expose the 'gundagardi' and corruption within the system.

A look inside an MCD sterilization center, where dogs are kept in terrible conditions with no clean water. This is the reality of the facilities run by the same bodies that want to manage large-scale shelters.

We caught an MCD van releasing dogs without any ear tags or proper documentation, a clear violation of ABC rules. This is evidence of how illegal relocation and dumping of dogs happens across Delhi.

Over 28 sterilized dogs were illegally relocated from the Bennett University campus, with the administration threatening students who spoke up. We are fighting the university administration to get the dogs back to their territory.

A satirical take on the Supreme Court reprimanding the MCD for its corruption and failure to properly implement animal welfare laws. Sometimes, art speaks louder than words about the systemic failure.

About this collection

Jab MCD illegally dogs ko uthati hai ya police FIR likhne se mana karti hai, tab chup baithna option nahi hai. Hum police station mein physical presence ensure karte hain taaki BNS sections ke under FIR register ho aur illegal detention ruk sake. Apni rights ko jaaniye aur authorities ko jawabdeh banaiye.

Fighting the System: Why Passive Appeals Don't Work

Street animals often pay the price for bureaucratic failure and corruption. We see it every day: an MCD van picks up dogs from a territory they have lived in for years, or an RWA illegally bans feeding, and the local police refuse to file even a simple complaint. We don't believe in just sending emails.

How We Intervene

  • On-Ground Police Advocacy: We stand with you at the local thana. If officers refuse to file an FIR for animal cruelty under the BNS, our team ensures they follow the law. We document the process, demand written receipts, and ensure the case doesn't get dismissed.
  • MCD Accountability: When dogs are picked up without proper tags or documentation, we trace which zone is responsible. We conduct inspections at ABC (Animal Birth Control) centers to ensure dogs aren't suffering in filthy conditions and prevent premature or illegal release.
  • Legal Notices: For RWAs or local bodies trying to block feeding or illegally relocate animals, we draft and serve formal legal notices citing the PCA Act 1960 and Supreme Court directives.

What You Need to Know

If you are facing harassment, document everything. Record the MCD employees if they refuse to show IDs, and note down the van number. If you are at a police station, do not leave until you have a DD entry number. The system relies on you getting tired and walking away—that is exactly what we refuse to do. We are here to fight the battle for accountability in every corner of Delhi-NCR.
