Karan Desai's Projects Featured in Leading Design Magazines
It's a rush to see my work in magazines, but it is the story behind the space that matters most. Here is a look at some of the wilder projects that caught the editor's eye.
Our "Project 86" bachelor pad on the cover of Livingetc India. I was so stoked to see this feature, which beautifully captured the pop art and maximalist vibe of the space.
Another shot from the Livingetc feature, titled "A Technicolour Kaleidoscope." It perfectly describes our approach to using popping colors, tactile textures, and eclectic art.
A close-up from the Livingetc spread, showing the vibrant art and iconic furniture that define Project 86.
The living room of Project 86 as featured in Livingetc. The article highlights the mix of a contemporary bubble couch and a classic Up chair, creating a formal yet relaxed feel.
Another beautiful shot from the Livingetc feature, showcasing the blend of art, color, and form in the living space.
Our Project 86 made it to the cover of India Today HOME. This video shows the magazine cover, celebrating the project's theme of "silent luxury."
A spread from the India Today HOME feature on Project 86. It highlights the color-cued design, from the living room and bar to the dining area.
Another page from the India Today HOME cover story, showing the "strike a pose" Monster Console and the plush, modular sofas.
The cover story in India Today HOME, detailing the design elements of Project 86, from the vibrant palette to the personalized touches and eclectic elegance.
The opening page of the India Today HOME feature, titled "Edgy Design Will Now Have A Sophisticated Vibe." This perfectly captures my philosophy of marrying top-of-the-line furniture with a Manhattan penthouse style.
About In The Press
Getting featured in publications like Livingetc and Elle Decor is a trip, but honestly, it is just proof that bold ideas pay off. These spreads capture the chaos and the calm we put into places like 'Project 86.' If you are looking for someone to push the boundaries of what your home can look like, this is the vibe I bring to every site.
I have never been one for safe, cookie-cutter choices. Whether it is the technicolour kaleidoscope of a bachelor pad or the silent luxury found in a Marine Lines oasis, my approach is to design for the person, not the trend. The press coverage you see here is a collection of my favourite experiments. When I design a home—whether it is an architecture project or a specific furniture piece—I am looking for that one element that makes people stop and stare. Like the 'Monster' collection, which started as a sketch and ended up with people queuing for selfies. When we do a project, we handle everything from the initial spatial reconfiguration to the final lighting touches. No fluff, just the grit and the vision needed to make something distinct. If you are tired of seeing the same Pinterest-copied interiors and want to talk about a design that actually has a personality, let us talk.
