Project 86: Sensory Luxury Interior Design in Versova
This Versova bachelor pad is about silent luxury and sensory design. We replaced rigid layouts with an open-plan flow, featuring an ombré wall effect, iconic furniture, and a pivot-door entrance that turns the room into an experience.
The living room of Project 86 is all about creating a fun, casual atmosphere with iconic furniture. The space is sectioned into a TV lounge, an informal living area, and a bar, all tied together with an ombre wall effect and bold art.
The TV lounge in Project 86 features a modular B&B Italia couch that can be reconfigured in countless ways. It sits opposite my own Monster Console, creating a dynamic conversation between sculptural art and comfortable seating.
This living room was designed to be both formal and relaxed. We paired a contemporary bubble couch from Roche Bobois with a classic B&B Italia sofa, and brought it all to life with a massive, vibrant piece of art by Siddhartha Kararwal.
The entrance to the master bedroom in Project 86 is a stunning 5-foot-wide pivoting glass door. It’s designed to look like a simple partition wall but opens to reveal the incredible cabana bed inside.
We integrated the bathroom and dry area into the master bedroom to create one large, open space. Arched doorways and continuous flooring connect the sleeping area to the vanity and sink, making the room feel expansive and luxurious.
A dedicated study corner in the master bedroom features a striking yellow desk and chair from Roche Bobois. The pop of color adds energy to the space, and the wall art was created by the client's talented nephew.
The deck at the end of the long living room is a tranquil escape with a stunning ocean view. We used backlit Vondom furniture, a vertical garden, and wooden floors to create the perfect vibe for a sundowner.
The walk-in wardrobe in Project 86 was meticulously designed to house the client's entire collection. Every shelf and drawer was customized for specific items, from shoes and bags to luggage.
I was thrilled to see Project 86 featured on the cover of India Today Home. This project was all about silent luxury and innovation, and it's an honor to have that recognized.
Another great feature for Project 86 in Livingetc magazine. The article called it a 'Technicolour Kaleidoscope,' which perfectly captures the project's blend of popping colors, tactile textures, and eclectic art.
About Project 86: The Sensory Extravaganza
Notice how the living room flows seamlessly into the bedroom. We removed traditional wall barriers and replaced them with a massive, five-foot-wide pivoting glass door. It keeps this bachelor pad entirely open-concept without sacrificing privacy when you have guests over.
When we designed Project 86 in Versova, the goal was simple: create an experience, not just a floor plan. This is what I call 'silent luxury'—it isn't about expensive labels, but about the tactile feel of the space, like the ombré wall effect that transitions from dark grey to egg white to create depth without clutter.
We moved away from boxy, conventional layouts. By integrating the bathroom and dry area directly into the master suite, the room feels massive, not like a confined city apartment. We installed a hidden, five-foot pivoting glass partition that functions as a stealth door, masking the bedroom entrance until you choose to open it.
The furniture choice was intentional. We mixed iconic pieces like the Roche Bobois bubble couch with my own custom-designed Monster Console and Matilda Collection side tables. Every inch of this space was mapped to the client’s lifestyle—from the dedicated gym corner to a walk-in wardrobe customized for every specific item. It is a kaleidoscope of textures, colors, and art, anchored by the ocean view from the deck.
What makes this project work:
- Spatial Fluidity: We broke the walls. The bedroom and bathroom are now one continuous, luxurious volume.
- Tech & Comfort: Automation is everywhere—from the Lutron switches to the AV setups—but it is invisible, integrated into the architecture.
- Personal Touches: The study features art from the client’s own family, making it feel like a home rather than a magazine spread.
If you want a space that feels less like a showroom and more like an extension of your own personality, that is what I do best.
