Custom Outfits for Little Ones: Handcrafted & Comfortable

Designing for children is different from making adult clothes. When I work on custom outfits for little ones, my process starts with the fabric. I select breathable materials like soft cotton or light silk blends to ensure the skin can breathe. If I use embroidery or zari work, I ensure it is backed or lined so it never touches the child's skin directly.

My studio in HSR Layout is where we brainstorm your ideas. Whether it is a first birthday dress, a festive kurta, or a matching set for a wedding, we look at the occasion and the age of the child. For infants, I avoid heavy hardware like buttons or hooks in sensitive areas, opting for soft fasteners or concealed zippers instead.

Here is how we usually plan a piece:

• Consultation: We talk about your child's age, the event, and any comfort requirements you have.
• Design: I sketch the outfit with a focus on ease of movement. If it is for a newborn, we keep it simple and gentle. For toddlers, we add room for them to run around.
• Crafting: I use my collection of Mughal and Banarasi borders, ensuring they are stitched carefully to avoid loose threads.
