Intricate designs that tell a story. From divine figures to cherished family portraits, I specialize in capturing the essence of your loved ones through detailed henna art.

One of the most special requests I've received. This bridal mehndi features portraits of the client's mother and her guru, a truly personal and emotional piece. This is the power of custom portrait mehndi.

Practice mode on. Here I am attempting a henna portrait of the talented actress Sai Pallavi. Creating recognizable portraits requires a lot of practice with proportions and shading.

A unique birthday gift for a dear friend. I created this henna portrait to make her celebration extra special. Custom portraits are a wonderful way to capture a memory in a unique art form.

A side-by-side comparison of the reference photo and the final henna portrait I created for my friend. Capturing a likeness in henna is a challenging but rewarding process.

A collection of adorable baby shower themed mehndi elements. From a baby sleeping on the moon to a cute elephant and a couple expecting, these motifs are perfect for celebrating a new arrival.

A Janmashtami special design featuring a portrait of Baal Krishna. Creating divine figures is a beautiful way to connect with our culture and traditions through mehndi art.

A beautifully styled shot of my Ganesha portrait, created with henna on paper and placed next to a peacock feather. This design is a favorite for festive occasions.

About this collection

Creating a realistic portrait in henna requires more than just a cone; it takes hours of patience and precision to map out the facial proportions. If you are planning a custom portrait design for your wedding or as a special gift, please provide a clear, high-resolution photo with good lighting so I can capture the features accurately and bring the likeness to life on your skin.

Why Choose Portrait Mehndi?

Portrait mehndi is the ultimate level of storytelling in henna art. It moves beyond traditional patterns to capture specific memories, emotions, and people. Whether it is a replica of a bride's parents on her palms, a beloved deity for a festival, or a unique birthday gift featuring a friend, these designs create a permanent memory of a temporary art form.

My Approach to Figure Art

I treat every figure as a piece of art that demands attention to detail. This involves:

  • Proportion & Shading: I focus on defining the key facial features—eyes, smiles, and hair textures—that make a portrait recognizable.
  • Theme Integration: Whether it is a Jodha Akbar inspired scene or a baby shower motif like a cradle, I weave the figure into the surrounding floral and mandala patterns so the design flows naturally.
  • Customization: Everything is based on your reference photos. If you have a specific scene or emotional moment you want to replicate, we work on the composition until it feels right.

Making It Work

If you are visiting my Mulund studio or booking me for an event, we will discuss the placement and size of the portrait beforehand. Portraits require space to look good, so I often suggest forearm or palm placements for maximum visibility. For those gifting a portrait, I can also create these on paper as a framed piece of art.
