Designing Serene Holiday Homes & Retreats
Your holiday home should be a sanctuary that breathes with its surroundings. Whether it is a lakeside cottage or a hillside getaway, we create spaces where heritage architecture meets contemporary comfort.
Our Aishbagh project on Damdama Lake, as featured on the cover of Architectural Digest's 'Holiday Homes' edition. This coverage celebrates the home's design as a serene retreat that balances heritage with contemporary living.

The infinity pool at Aishbagh, designed with a dark stone finish that beautifully reflects the sky and surrounding trees. It serves as the tranquil heart of the property, offering a peaceful escape with views of the Aravalli Hills.
The front facade of the Aishbagh cottage, showcasing its symmetrical design and layered, sloped roofs with terracotta tiles. The architecture is designed to feel organic and rooted in its natural environment.

The open-to-sky entrance pavilion at Aishbagh, constructed with old teak wood columns from Kerala. This transitional space serves as a pause point, welcoming guests with a sense of quiet grandeur and a connection to natural elements.
The living room at Aishbagh, featuring a curated mix of textures and global design pieces. Rattan daybeds, a coffee table made from Borneo teak trunks, and Granatilo marble flooring create a comfortable and sophisticated space.

The dining space at Aishbagh, anchored by a solid teak slab table from Borneo. The room showcases our love for meaningful materials, including a silver-gilded Art Deco bar cabinet and a raw lava rock sculpture.
The twin staircases at Aishbagh stand as a central design element, leading to the private bedrooms on the first floor. The landings are designed as memory walls, adorned with family photographs that tell a personal story.
About Holiday Homes & Retreats
For us, a holiday home is not just a structure; it is an extension of the landscape. When we designed Aishbagh on Damdama Lake, we focused on the architecture of arrival, using Kerala teak columns and expansive, covered verandas to let the home breathe with the Aravalli Hills. We do not believe in imposing a design upon a site; we listen to the way light, wind, and memory move through the space first.
Architecture That Breathes
A holiday home is a deliberate departure from the urban grid. It requires a different architectural language—one that is porous, tactile, and deeply connected to its site. At K2India, our approach to retreats is rooted in quiet luxury. We prioritize the orientation of the sun, the prevailing winds, and the natural contours of the land to create buildings that feel like they have always belonged to the terrain.
Materials & Memory
We believe a home is a museum of your own life. When we select materials, we look for those that carry a story. This often means working with reclaimed Borneo teak, solid stone cladding, and traditional terracotta tiling. We integrate these with modern structural necessities like wide-span fenestration and climate-controlled envelopes. The result is a space that is technically advanced yet feels handmade.
Our Process for Retreats
Building outside the city presents unique challenges, from logistical access to climatic considerations. We handle the end-to-end design, ensuring:
- Site-Responsive Layouts: Every room is placed to maximize views and natural ventilation, reducing the reliance on artificial lighting and HVAC.
- Vastu-Compliant Master Planning: For those who prioritize traditional harmony, we align the architecture with Vastu Shastra principles from the initial massing phase.
- Indoor-Outdoor Flow: We design verandas, gazebos, and decks that act as transitional spaces, allowing family and friends to gather without losing the connection to nature.
Whether you are looking to renovate an existing farmhouse or plan a ground-up villa, we work to ensure your retreat remains a peaceful, timeless sanctuary for generations to come.
