About The Training Ground: Drills & Development
We don't just put students in the nets and walk away. Every drill—whether it is fielding agility with catch cradles or refining a stance on our turf wickets—is deliberate. You will see our coaches using cones, sidearm throwers, and video feedback to build real muscle memory, ensuring every player understands the mechanics behind their technique before they face a match.
At Playsmart, we believe that technique is the difference between playing the game and mastering it. Our JP Nagar training facility is designed to support every stage of this development, moving beyond generic net practice.
The Training Approach
We rotate our training across different surfaces to mimic match-day variations. You will find our players training on:
- Turf Wickets: For realistic bounce and seam movement.
- Astro-turf: Perfect for consistent, high-repetition batting and bowling drills.
- Clay/Dirt Wickets: To help bowlers develop drift and batters to handle uneven bounce.
Core Skill Development
Our coaching team focuses on the building blocks of the sport. We break down complex movements into manageable segments—checking the high elbow in a cover drive, the grip on a spinner’s release, or the first step in a catching drill. By integrating fitness and agility ladders into every session, we ensure that skills remain sharp even when players get tired during long match days.
