We believe in building hockey players from the ground up, right here in Cooke Town. Whether it is their first time holding a stick or they are aiming for competitive play, we help kids learn, grow, and love the game.

About this collection

We believe that training on diverse surfaces is the best way to build a well-rounded player. While we use synthetic Astroturf for modern speed and technical control, our grassroots sessions often take place on gravel and concrete grounds. This forces players to adapt their dribbling mechanics and ball control, making them more resilient and technically sound when they transition to professional-grade pitches.

At Jude Felix Hockey Academy, we strip the game back to its absolute basics. Grassroots hockey is not just about learning to pass or shoot; it is about building comfort and confidence on the field. Our sessions are structured to be inclusive, welcoming boys and girls from age 5, regardless of their prior experience.

Beginners often start with fundamental motor skills—coordination, balance, and agility—using hurdle drills and sprints. As they progress, we introduce specific mechanics like the push pass and shot power, always under the watchful eye of our FIH-certified coaches and former international players.

Beyond the stick work, we focus on the complete athlete. We know young bodies need fuel, so we run workshops on sports nutrition, teaching kids and parents what to eat to power through a match. We also incorporate fitness benchmarking using the Yo-Yo test, ensuring our training translates to real-world stamina on the field.

We do not just train for fun; we train for the future. From our summer camps to our year-round academy, the goal is to create a pathway for young talent to move from academy training to district and state-level competition. If your child is ready to pick up a stick and be part of a community that truly loves the sport, come join us at our Cooke Town grounds.
