Pregnancy and the arrival of a newborn are huge milestones. Over the last few decades of shooting in Mumbai, I have learned that the best pictures aren't the ones where everyone is staring at the camera with a stiff smile. They are the moments where you are looking at each other, or perhaps just holding your belly, feeling the anticipation of what is to come.

Studio or Home: What Fits You?

My Bhandup West studio is fully equipped for maternity shoots, offering a controlled environment where we can play with lighting, solid backdrops, and simple props to keep the focus entirely on you and your partner. However, if you are more comfortable at home, I can bring the gear to you. Many families find that being in their own space allows them to be more candid, which results in softer, more intimate portraits.

Practical Tips for Your Session

• Timing: Ideally, aim for the 7th or 8th month of pregnancy. You will have a clear bump, but you will likely still be comfortable enough to move around the studio.
• Outfits: Keep it simple. Flowy dresses or a classic white shirt and jeans combination usually work best for maternity shoots because they don't distract from your face or your bump.
• Inclusions: Regardless of the package, my focus is on skin smoothing and color correction so that the final images you get look timeless and crisp, ready for your wall or an album.

Every family has a unique story, and my job is to make sure your photos feel like a memory you can hold onto rather than just another file on your phone.
