About International Portfolio: Asia
When I am shooting internationally, I pack light and focus on ambient light. Whether it involves setting up a tripod for a long-exposure night shot in Hanoi or finding a flight path for a drone in Singapore, I work to capture the environment as it exists, rather than staging scenes for a postcard aesthetic.
In every city I visit, I look for the contrast between the modern skyline and the traditional way of life. In Vietnam, this often means photographing the deliberate motion blur of traffic through a busy intersection or finding a unique perspective of the floating vendors in Halong Bay.
My approach relies on a mix of drone cinematography to establish the scale of a city and ground-level photography to highlight the granular details of daily life. I do not stage these environments. I prefer to observe the flow of people and the shifts in natural light, waiting for the specific moment where the atmosphere feels right.
Editing is the final phase where I lock in the narrative. I use Lightroom and Photoshop to enhance the colors and contrast, ensuring the final image carries the same weight and intensity I felt while standing on the ground. Whether it is the electric blue of a lit skyscraper at night or the warm glow of a market lantern, my goal is to process the files to reflect the authentic energy of the location.

I do not just take pictures when I travel; I look for the way a city breathes. Whether I am flying a drone over Singapore's skyscrapers or waiting for the right light on a street in Vietnam, my goal is to capture the vibe of the place exactly as I felt it.
