Natural Curly Hair Definition and Styling
Stop fighting your natural texture and start loving it. Whether you have wavy 2B or coily 3C hair, I am here to give your curls the definition, bounce, and life they have been missing.
My goal is to help you love your natural curly hair. Here, I've shaped and styled these curls to be defined, bouncy, and beautiful, embracing their natural texture.
This client's curls are now perfectly defined and full of life. A good curly cut is all about creating the right shape to let the curls do their thing, and the result is this happy, confident smile.
About Curly Hair Definition
Most salons do not get that curly hair has a mind of its own, so they treat it like straight hair that just happens to bend. I use a precise dry-cut technique to prevent shrinkage shock, which means you leave the chair with the exact shape you see in the mirror. It is all about the 'Squish-to-Condish' hydration process and careful finger-coiling to make sure every ringlet is defined, not frizzy.
If you have spent years trying to tame your hair with products that just make it heavy or flat, you are likely missing the right cut and hydration balance. In my studio, I don't treat curly hair like straight hair that just happens to bend.
The CGM Method at Work
I follow Curly Girl Method (CGM) standards, focusing on sulfate-free and silicone-free products. The process starts with a thorough diagnosis of your curl pattern, whether it is wavy 2B or coily 3C. We move to a basin session using the 'Squish-to-Condish' technique to push deep hydration into every strand, followed by layering leave-in creams on soaking wet hair to seal the moisture.
Why a Dry Cut?
Wet cutting curly hair is a recipe for disaster because you never know where the curl will sit once it bounces up. By cutting dry, I can see exactly where each ringlet lives, ensuring we manage shrinkage while maintaining the volume you want. I finish every session with a slow diffuser dry to guarantee zero frizz and maximum root lift.
Let’s Get Your Hair Talking
You should not have to force your hair to be something it is not. When you sit in my chair, we focus on what makes your hair unique, helping you embrace your natural pattern. Whether you need a refresh, shape correction, or just want to learn how to manage those ringlets at home, let’s make your hair talk.
