About Curly Hair Cuts: My Specialty
I cut hair dry, which is essential for curly textures. This lets me see how each curl naturally sits and springs back, preventing that uneven, lopsided look often caused by standard wet cuts. It’s a 75 to 90-minute session where we don’t just cut; we troubleshoot your current routine to ensure your hair stays manageable at home.
My approach is built around the Curly Girl (CG) Method. Unlike standard salons that rush through the process, I take the time to assess your specific curl pattern—whether you are a 2B or a 4A—before even touching the scissors.
Why Dry Cutting Matters
When you cut curly hair wet, you cannot see how the curl will spring up once it dries. This often results in uneven layers or hair that looks great in the salon chair but loses its shape entirely the next morning. By cutting dry, I can see exactly where each curl sits, allowing me to build a shape that supports volume without creating the dreaded triangle effect.
