My Approach to Walima Makeup
I prefer a dewy, luminous base for receptions, especially since the lighting is usually softer than during the Nikkah. My goal is to make you look glowing rather than matte. I use premium illuminators and hydration-focused skin prep to achieve that reflective finish.
Eye and Lip Styling
For eyes, many brides ask for soft glam or earth tones, but I can also pack on the glitter if that is your style. We usually stick to nude, mauve, or soft pink lips for a reception, but if you want that classic look, I can do a bold red too.
Practical Details
- Hairstyles: I specialize in romantic Hollywood waves, soft curls, or voluminous half-ties. If you want flowers, I use Gypsophila (baby's breath) or delicate clips that complement your outfit.
- Lighting Check: We often test your look under different lights during the trial. You want to ensure your contouring is soft but defined enough to stand out in photos.
- Comfort: Just like for the Nikkah, I keep the heavy jewelry securing minimal so you can actually move and breathe.
If you are worried about the humidity in Mumbai or a non-AC venue, I use my standard sweat-resistant technique here too. Even if it is a soft look, it is engineered to last the entire night without melting.
