Apartment Balcony Makeover
Flooring & Base
- Artificial Turf: Supply and installation of 35mm to 40mm high-density artificial grass including cutting and edge securing.
- Drainage Layers: Drain mats installed underneath the turf to ensure water flow and prevent waterlogging.
Vertical & Greenery
- Planter Setup: Assortment of 8 to 10 UV-treated Rotomolded plastic planters plus 2 novelty shaped planters.
- Plant Stand: One 2-tier or 3-tier powder-coated mild steel plant stand.
- Live Plants: Hardy outdoor varieties like Areca Palm, Crotons, and Snake Plants including potting mix.
- Green Wall Accent: Artificial vertical garden panels (approx. 10 to 15 sq. ft.) to mask utility pipes or plain walls.
Accessories & Safety
- Safety Netting: High-quality transparent or black nylon bird netting (Garware type) for pigeon proofing.
- Lighting: Basic string fairy lights or solar-powered garden stakes.

- Focal Point: One medium-sized outdoor statue (approx. 2.5ft to 3ft height), typically a meditating Buddha in fiber or stone finish.
- Water Element: Compact, self-contained plug-and-play water fountain.
Seating & Privacy
- Furniture: Loose outdoor seating consisting of either a carved stone bench or 2 weather-proof wicker chairs with a small table.
- Privacy Screening: Outdoor bamboo roll-up blinds or green shade net on a metal frame.
Decor & Lighting
- Plants & Pots: Collection of 15 to 20 planters, including large focal pots for tall palms.
- Lighting: Focus spike lights for the statue and ambient strip lighting near borders.

- Roofing: Mild Steel (MS) pergola or truss structure with Polycarbonate or puff sheet roofing.

- Cooling: Installation of a high-speed designer ceiling fan.
Flooring & Walls
- Tiling: Decorative ceramic or vitrified tiles (Moroccan patterns or rustic wood look) laid over existing floor with waterproofing.
- Accent Wall: One feature wall with options like hand-sculpted 3D relief art, hand-painted Warli mural, or stone cladding.
Custom Furniture & Decor
- Built-in Seating: Fixed L-shaped or U-shaped bench (Civil or Ply base) with outdoor-grade foam cushions and fabric.
- Swing: Signature wooden plank swing with heavy-duty ceiling hooks and ropes.
- Lighting Package: Recessed COB lights in the false ceiling, profile lighting, and decorative wall sconces.

Turning balconies and terraces into places you actually want to hang out in - that's what I love doing. No matter if you've got a tiny balcony or a big open terrace, I work with what you've got and make it work for you.
What I Offer
- For apartment balconies, I focus on small balcony transformation. Smart planters, cozy swings, and privacy screens so you can chill or get some work done. I also sort out stuff like safety nets and turf when you want a green feel but not the hassle.
- For larger terraces, I go big. Rooftop garden ideas, outdoor lounge design with comfy seating, and even Zen terrace makeover options. You can ask for water features or a little Buddha statue for peaceful mornings.
- Floors and walls get a bit of personality too - patterned tiles, Warli art, or exposed bricks if you like that vibe.
- Lighting matters, so I add everything from hanging lamps to mood lights, depending on how you want your evenings.

I take care of the whole thing, start to finish. I like the messy bits, but what really gets me is handing over a space that actually feels yours. No drama - just a better place to spend your time.

We’re iS Interior Design Studio, based in Mangalore but you’ll find us working in Hyderabad and Bangalore too.
