Children's Portraits: Capturing Joy & Wonder
Kids aren't meant to sit still, and their photos shouldn't be either. I create relaxed, fun sessions in Mumbai and beyond that capture their actual personalities—the giggles, the shyness, and everything in between.
A collage of pure childhood expressions in black and white. From a bright, happy smile to a thoughtful profile and a cheeky grin, these portraits show the range of emotions I aim to capture in every child photography session.
"Let them be!" This playful shot of a young girl reaching for the camera is the perfect example of my approach. I encourage kids to run, play, and be themselves, which results in wonderfully authentic and joyful photographs.
This video shows the magic behind the final shot. You can see me interacting with the child and her family to get those natural smiles, followed by the beautiful, candid portraits that result from a fun and playful outdoor session.
A sweet, close-up portrait of a young girl with a genuine, happy smile. By shooting from her eye level, I connect directly with her, making the portrait feel personal and engaging.
A quiet moment of curiosity during our outdoor shoot. This little girl was fascinated by the flowers, and I captured her gentle interaction with nature. These unposed, lifestyle portraits often tell the best stories.
A side profile of the same girl admiring the flowers. This shot highlights her delicate features and the peacefulness of the moment, creating a soft and dreamy child portrait.
A lovely portrait of a young girl in a beautiful lavender outfit. The natural greenery in the background provides a perfect, soft frame for her sweet expression.
A candid shot filled with energy and movement. The slight blur and her direct gaze create a dynamic and engaging portrait that captures the feeling of being a happy, active child.
The joy of sisterhood. These twin girls are captured mid-twirl in a simple studio setting. The black and white treatment emphasizes their movement and the pure happiness on their faces.
A quiet, artistic shot of one of the twins engrossed in coloring on the floor. The reflection on the glossy surface and the minimalist composition make this a powerful and unconventional child portrait.
About Children's Portraits: Capturing Joy & Wonder
I don't believe in forced smiles or stiff poses. Whether we are in my Chembur studio or exploring a local park, my goal is to make your child feel comfortable enough to just be themselves. We play, we explore, and we let the moments happen naturally—which is exactly how we get those genuine, heart-warming expressions you’ll actually want to hang on your wall.
Why I keep it real
When you book a session with me, forget about 'say cheese' or sitting perfectly still. Kids are bundles of energy, and I love that. Whether it's a toddler who just wants to run around or a teen finding their own style, I work with their mood, not against it. If they are shy, we take it slow. If they are hyper, we channel that into a fun game. My studio in Chembur is designed to be a safe, chill space where we can bring out those genuine laughs—even if it takes a few minutes of just playing with toys to get there.
What to expect during our time together
I offer both studio sessions and outdoor shoots, depending on what your child prefers. Studio sessions are great for a controlled environment with specific props—we have standard backdrops, or we can use textured canvases. For outdoor shoots, I follow the natural light, keeping the vibe relaxed. I don’t offer makeup services, as I want your children to look like themselves, just on a really great day.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should my child wear? Keep it comfortable. If they aren't comfortable in their clothes, it will show in the photos. Stick to solid colors or outfits they love. If we are doing a traditional or cultural theme, let's chat about that beforehand so I can prep the right props.
Do you travel for shoots? Absolutely. While I’m based in Tilak Nagar, Mumbai, I travel across India for projects. Let's discuss your location and what you have in mind.
