Hand-Drawn Realistic Pencil Portraits

I turn your favorite photos into detailed graphite and charcoal sketches. From the glint in your eyes to the softest textures, every line is hand-drawn to capture the real you.

Here is a finished A4 size commission of a beautiful client. I focused on the soft texture of her hair and the intricate patterns on her traditional attire, using different grades of graphite pencils to achieve depth.

A work-in-progress shot of a portrait. You can see how I start with the eyes, as they are the soul of any sketch. This detailed layering process is key to achieving a realistic effect.

A custom graphite portrait capturing a quiet moment between a couple. My goal here was to translate the connection and affection from their photo onto paper, creating a cherished keepsake.

This hyper-realistic sketch of a girl's sorrowful expression is one of my most emotional pieces. I used fine pencils and blending stumps to create the realistic tears and the depth in her eyes.

Another angle of the emotional crying portrait, showing the full composition in my sketchbook. This piece is a testament to how art can express feelings that words cannot.

A commissioned graphite pencil sketch on A4 paper. I paid close attention to her gentle expression and the delicate details of her saree to create a portrait her family will treasure.

Here is the finished portrait, professionally framed and ready to be gifted. Seeing my art framed and ready for a new home is one of the best feelings.

This was a fun commission. The pose is so full of personality, and I loved the challenge of drawing the hands and capturing the playful attitude. It shows that portraits can be more than just a headshot.

A self-portrait sketch from a moment of deep thought. Sometimes, the artist becomes the subject. This was drawn in my personal sketchbook, exploring shadows and mood.

From photo to art. This image shows the original reference photos next to my finished pencil sketches, giving you a clear idea of how I transform your pictures into hand-drawn portraits.

About Realistic Pencil Portraits

I draw every portrait on thick, 300 GSM Brustro paper because it holds graphite and charcoal textures perfectly. Before I start the final shading, I always share a work-in-progress outline with you, so you know exactly how the sketch is shaping up before it gets finalized.

There is something honest about black and white. It strips away distractions and forces you to focus purely on the expression and the mood of a moment. My process is slow and intentional. I start with a light outline and build the shading layer by layer, spending extra time on the eyes, which I believe are the soul of any portrait.

Whether you need a solo A4 size sketch for your workspace or a larger A3 piece to celebrate an anniversary, I handle the process from start to finish. I do not believe in mass-produced work. Every single piece is drawn by hand, and once finished, I coat it with a professional fixative spray so your artwork does not smudge or fade over time.

If you are planning to gift this to someone, let me know. I can include a handwritten note to make the package feel a bit more personal. All you need to do is send me a clear, high-resolution photo, and we can discuss the composition. I have worked on over 500 commissions so far, and my goal is always to create a keepsake that you can hold onto for years.

I am Khushi, and I create art that feels real. I believe a portrait should do more than just look like someone, it should carry their energy. Most nights you will find me at my desk, pencil in hand, trying to get every shadow just right.
