From the court to the cinema screen, see how IB Sports Academy brought real basketball energy to the sets of 'Sitaare Zameen Par' alongside Aamir Khan.

Our new blog post details the behind the scenes journey of our collaboration with Aamir Khan Productions for the movie 'Sitaare Zameen Par'. A true cinematic slam dunk for grassroots basketball.

About Bollywood Meets Basketball: "Sitaare Zameen Par"

When the cameras rolled, we didn't want any 'filmy' basketball. My team and I worked directly with the production crew to ensure every dribble, pass, and team huddle looked authentic. Watching Aamir Khan sweat it out on the court with my students—learning the plays and getting the mechanics right—proved that even the biggest stars respect the grind. This experience showed my athletes that with the right discipline, their sport can take them anywhere.

Working on Sitaare Zameen Par was more than just a cameo appearance; it was a testament to the consistency we drill into every athlete at IB Sports Academy. When I got the call to consult on the basketball scenes, my only requirement was that we show real basketball.

Standing on set, I realized that Aamir Khan approaches his craft exactly like a top-tier basketball player approaches the court—with extreme focus, endless repetition, and a hunger to learn. He didn't just want to look like a coach; he wanted to understand the decision-making process behind every play.

For my students, this experience was bigger than any tournament trophy. Seeing themselves on the big screen—wearing the jersey, hearing 'action'—changed their perspective. They realized that their hard work in training has value, and their skills can command attention in mainstream spaces. Whether it is acting in a major Bollywood production or playing a final at a state-level championship, the principles remain the same: discipline, repetition, and a never-give-up attitude. We brought that real-world IB energy to the silver screen, and I hope it inspires more kids to pick up a ball and start their own journey.
