About Our Stays: Tents, Homestays & More

I don't just book random lodges. For my Munnar trips, we use unique mud and tree houses, while most weekend treks involve shared homestays or tents. Since these are group trips, expect basic dormitory style sleeping arrangements, but I always ensure the place is clean, safe, and actually fits the vibe of the trail.

Our Approach to Stays

I believe the stay is half the experience. If you are climbing a mountain in the Western Ghats or chasing waterfalls in Maharashtra, you need a place where you can actually recover. I scout these locations personally to ensure they are more than just a place to crash.

What You Can Expect

  • Homestays & Nature Camps: On popular weekend treks like Nethravathi or Kudremukha, we typically use local homestays. These are tiled roof structures with dormitory halls or 3 to 5 sharing rooms. It is a communal experience, so expect to share space with your fellow trekkers.
  • Camping & Tents: For our beach treks in Gokarna or high-altitude sunrise treks, we use dome tents. We provide foam mats and sleeping bags. You will be camping outdoors, so be prepared for a bit of rustic living with common washroom facilities.
  • Unique Stays: For trips like our Munnar getaway, I often include mud houses or tree houses built right into the forest. These are for those who want a bit more character than a standard hotel but still want that 'in-the-wild' feel.

Practical Details

  • Washrooms: Most of our remote nature camps have common washroom facilities. Hot water availability can be restricted depending on the location, so please manage your expectations accordingly.
  • Food: Meals are almost always included in the stay package, typically a mix of local buffets or campfire-style cooking.
  • Group Dynamics: My trips are designed for people who want to meet others. You will be staying in gender-segregated dorms or shared tents, which is the best way to make new friends and share stories after a long day of hiking.

If you want to know which stay is planned for a specific date, just drop me a message and I will give you the latest update.
