About Munnar: Camping Above the Clouds
Getting to the Kolukkumalai sunrise point involves a bit of off-roading, so we pre-book 4x4 jeeps to get you from the campsite directly to the viewpoint. The altitude is high and the weather changes fast, so definitely pack a warm layer or light jacket, even if it feels warm when we leave Bangalore on Friday night.
The Munnar Camping Experience
Our Munnar trips are built for those who want to swap city traffic for a sea of clouds. We operate from the Suryanelli side, which offers the best access to Kolukkumalai—the highest tea plantation area in the world.
What the Trip Covers:
- Transport & Logistics: We arrange round-trip travel from HSR Layout in Bangalore. From the moment you board until we drop you back on Sunday night, we manage the permits, forest entry fees, and local transfers.
- The Stay: Depending on the batch, we set you up in tents at our hillside campsite or cozy homestays. You get front-row seats to the 'cloud fall' effect where the valley fills with mist below you.
- Food: Expect simple, hearty meals. We provide breakfast and dinner at the campsite, perfect for fueling up after a day of exploring or a sunrise hike.
- The Sunrise Trek: This is the highlight. We start early with a jeep ride that takes you through the tea estates to the summit. It’s an easy-to-moderate climb that rewards you with views you won't find anywhere else in the Western Ghats.
