Kumaraparvatha: Conquer Karnataka's Toughest Trek

This trek is demanding, so we strictly follow a 1:12 leader-to-trekker ratio to ensure everyone stays safe on the trails. You will need a decent level of fitness to handle the steep inclines and rocky terrain, but we handle the 4x4 jeep transfers at the base and all forest permits to ensure your climb is as smooth as possible.

Kumaraparvatha, located in the Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary, is widely considered the most challenging trek in Karnataka. It is a two-day physical journey that takes you through varying ecosystems, from thick Shola forests to wide-open golden grasslands.

When you trek with us, you are not just getting a guide; you are joining a group. We manage the entire weekend from Bangalore to Bangalore. This includes round-trip transport in a Tempo Traveller, all forest department entry fees, and shared homestay or dormitory accommodation at the base.

The climb itself is broken into stages. We typically start the ascent through the forest canopy, pass the iconic stone Mantapa, and push towards the peak. Because this is a high-altitude trek with unpredictable weather, we bring experienced trek leads who know these trails inside out. They manage the pace, handle the group safety, and ensure we stick to the timeline so you are back in Bangalore by Sunday night, ready for your Monday morning.

What to expect on the trail:

• Distance: Approximately 13 to 14 kilometers one way.
• Terrain: Initial forest trails, followed by steep rocky climbs, and open grasslands near the summit.
• Preparation: Good shoes with high grip are non-negotiable. Please carry a backpack with essentials as we will be on the move for two days.

We provide all meals, including breakfast and dinner, to keep your energy up. This trek is not a walk in the park, but the sense of accomplishment you get at the summit is well worth the effort.
